Department of Cannabis Control Proposes New Regulations for Large Cultivation Licenses; License Fee Waivers and Deferrals; and Standard Cannabinoids Test Method & Standardized Operating Procedures

Yesterday, the California Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) published three sets of proposed regulations, dealing with large (Type 5) cultivation licenses and conversion to large and medium licenses; cannabis license fee waivers and deferrals; and standard cannabinoids test method and standardized operating procedures. Comment Period Underway

Public comments on each of the foregoing proposed regulations are being accepted until 5 p.m. on August 2, 2022. Comments can be submitted by mail or email to the DCC, referencing the rulemaking topic (“license fee waiver and deferral regulations”):

In addition, the DCC will hold public hearings to receive live comments. Three hearings will be held, one for each of the proposed regulation topics.

  • Large cultivation licenses: August 1, 2022, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (Pacific)
  • License fee waivers and deferrals: August 1, 2022, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Pacific)
  • Standard cannabinoids test methods and standardized operating procedures: August 1, 2022, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Pacific)
