Andrew Kingsdale Named to New York Bar Association’s Committee on Cannabis Law

Effective June 1, 2021, Of Counsel Attorney Andrew Kingsdale has been appointed as a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Cannabis Law.  The Committee on Cannabis Law is charged with serving as the New York State Bar Association’s focal point for the evolving legal status of Cannabis at both the state and federal level.

On March 31, 2021, New York governor Andrew Cuomo signed into law the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act (“MRTA”), making New York the 14th state to legalize adult-use cannabis.  You can read Andrew’s summary of MRTA’s adult-use licensing rules here.

Andrew has been admitted to practice law in New York since 2007, and he has been advising California cannabis and hemp businesses since 2017. Last year he has presented on the ethics of attorney cannabis use under New York law.
